Day 1 & 2Porto, Portugal
Upon arrival you will transferred to your hotel before enjoying an afternoon tour of Porto’s historic center. Walk through Ribeira Square; visit the Palácio da Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace), the magnificent neo-Gothic Livraria Lello bookshop, and the gothic Church of São Francisco. On Day 2, explore the Douro Valley port wine region. Stop at a wine estate for a cellar tour and instructional wine tasting by the owner. Later, take a private, narrated cruise along the Douro River in a rabelo, a flat-bottomed boat used to transport wine. (B)

Day 3 – 5Óbidos, Sintra, Cascais & Lisbon
Visit the impressive Batalha and Alcobaa monasteries before departing Porto and heading south to Lisbon. En route, explore the medieval white-walled town of bidos. In Lisbon, on Day 4, a morning walking tour takes you through the old Alfama district to visits the hilltop Castelo de São Jorge and impressive Tile Museum (Museu Nacional do Azulejo). In the afternoon, see the 16th century Torre de Belm tower and tour the Jerónimos Monastery. On Day 5, travel west to Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dotted with grand palaces and castles. A walking tour includes the medieval city center and guided visits to the Pena National Palace.
